The Scope of ENEC Certification Extended to Household Appliances and Consumers Electronics
The Pan-European ENEC testing and certification, which matches several European national certification marks, is developing strongly. Some significant changes were made to the ENEC scheme at the meeting in Finland hosted by SGS Fimko late in spring 2008:
The scope of ENEC was extended to household appliances and consumers' electronics Testing can be carried out worldwide in a CB laboratory (SGS Fimko’s laboratories are located in Finland, the United Kingdom, China, Taiwan and Korea) for all other products but lighting fittings, the testing of which must take place in Europe (Finland and England) The graphic guidelines for using the ENEC certification in marketing were approved The scope of the ENEC certification includes, besides household appliances and consumers electronics, also lighting fittings and their components, information technology equipment, transformers, capacitors, suppression filters, switches and terminals.
