SGS Fimko received IECEE HS (Hazardous substances) National Certification Body (NCB) status. SGS Fimko is able to offer IECEE HS Report Service by granting Statement of Test Results (STR) for components and materials of electrical, electronic and telecommunication products which are under the scope of the IECEE system for mutual recognition of test results.
STR - a support for manufacturers and buyers of components and materials With the help of SGS Fimko’s STRs and test reports the manufacturers are able to verify that the percentage of hazardous substances in material is in accordance with standard IEC 62321 determining the level of hazardous substances. STRs and test results can be browsed on the website of IECEE (www.iecee.org), which acts as a marketing channel for tested components and materials and for which exist impartial, reliable test results. With the help of test results the percentage of hazardous substances of the final product can be evaluated.
SGS Fimko has several HS laboratories When SGS Fimko received NCB status, also several CB laboratories were accepted to operate in the CB Scheme for RoHS. In addition to Finland, SGS Fimko has HS laboratories in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and Thailand. The laboratories participate in the annually conducted comparison tests set by the Scheme.
SGS Fimko participates in the committee handling testing technical issues The IECEE Expert Task Force (EFT) handles technical issues of the hazardous substance standard and arranges the e.g. the comparison tests. Both SGS Fimko and its laboratory staff are members of this working group.
