The Finnish national Accreditation Body (FINAS) has granted SGS Fimko accreditation for its RF (radio frequency) testing [FINAS T004 (EN ISO/IEC 17025)]. Extension of the scope applies to testing carried out in accordance with standards EN 300 220-1, -2, EN 300 328 and EN 300 440-1, -2,  which cover SRD (Short Range Device) equipment and wireless devices (e.g. WLAN and Bluetooth) operating at 2.4GHz frequency range.
The scope of SGS Fimko already includes electrical safety and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing.
The aim is Notified Body Status
Extension of the scope to RF testing strengthens SGS Fimko’s status as the leading tester and certifier in the electrical, electronic and telecommunication field. SGS Fimko will also apply for Notified Body status under R&TTE directive (Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment). A Notified Body can ensure and verify the conformity of the product with the requirements within the European Union.
