SGS Fimko s scope for GS competence was extended
SGS Fimko’s scope for GS certification was extended to include electrical tools and gas appliance which are not under the GAD directive (Gas Appliance Directive). GS mark is a verification for the consumers that the products are tested and certified in accordance with German legislation GPSG (Geräte- und Produktsicherheitsgesetz = appliance and product safety decree). GS mark is granted mainly to consumers’ products (computers, household appliances, lighting fittings, hand held tools, extension cords etc.). The number GS certifications issued by SGS Fimko has increased rapidly during the last half year of 2007. The new scope will still increase the number of GS certifications.
CB, GS and FI with the same testingSGS offers its customers testing for both FI mark and GS mark as well as any other certifications needed, e.g. CB certification. FI mark is renowned in addition to Finland also in the Nordic and Baltic countries as well as the rest of Europe. GS mark (Geprüfte Sicherheit – tested safety) is renowned particularly in German speaking countries. The easiest access to GS certification is testing for CB certification or FI mark carried out by SGS Fimko. At the testing any special GS requirements are taken into account.
